      When anxiety rises, breathing becomes shallow and fast. This tells your brain that something dangerous is happening. Slow breathing sends the opposite signal.

      Try this technique: Inhale for 4 seconds, hold for 7 seconds, exhale for 8 seconds. This pattern activates the body’s calming system.
