Anxiety often feels like something attacking you, but it’s actually your brain trying to protect you. Your mind evolved to scan for danger so you could survive. The problem is that this alarm system sometimes becomes too sensitive in modern life.

Instead of fighting anxiety, try observing it. Ask yourself: “What is my mind trying to protect me from right now?”

Sometimes simply understanding the signal reduces the intensity of the feeling.

Try this: Take three slow breaths and simply notice your thoughts without judging them.
